Lítill fugl – meaning Small Bird – is one of the best songs of Icelandic band 200.000 naglbítar from Akureyri. This is a melancholic and simple little song, that can still be understood in numerous ways – literally or about those who life has treated unfairly or just yourself when you‘re feeling low.

But most of all, this is a song about all the forgotten and misunderstood artists of the world (in a rough translation):

He sang of grief

So tenderly

You never understood

The video, that recently was rediscovered, is an art work in it‘s own right – stop motion blended with a jumping girl. Trying to be a bird, like we all sometimes do.
