A drunken binge last Tuesday evening led to a major scandal in Icelandic politics, where six MPs went to the bar and trashed all their colleagues and more, venting their bile on the women of the world, queer people, handicapped people and most other people they could think of. They did so loudly, not realising pretty much every cell phone in the world has a recording device.
After all that it‘s right to remember that it‘s possible to drink and be merry in a civilised manner, without trashing everybody who‘s smarter and better mannered then yourself, and you can even do it on Tuesday evenings, as the joyous band Party, headed by later major of Reykjavík Jón Gnarr, demonstrated in their song Þriðjudagskvöld (Tuesday Night), where they sang about the joys of the Tuesday evening parties. With thanks to Marvin for the recording, hoping you’ll have a better night out next Tuesday!
